A visit to the Old Spitalfields Market. Short and sweet. A bit of loitering and late lunch. Most of the “shopkeepers” with stalls didn’t want me to take any pictures! “No pictures please!” was the common refrain. I’m not sure whether they were trying to “protect” their wares or if they were trying to make sure no one finds out about their wares being rip offs of other brands!
The market is a mix of temporary stalls and brick and mortar stores. Shoes, bags, clothes, vinyl, accessories usually make up the bulk of the temporary stalls. Lots of places to eat at the market – mostly brick and mortar surrounding the temporary stalls.
And did I mention Soap? ( By now it has been established that I love soap. ) This was @naturalsoapuk. What lovely soap bars!
I’d visited the market mainly because Green and Black’s had a stall setup there that day. New citrus flavored chocolates. I was being fed their ice creams by the tub! Organic chocolate being my favorite. You can find them on Twitter @greenandblacks and on Facebook.
Yes there are real bees on that fake orange because the orange is made from chocolate! Many of the leaves of the tree were also made from chocolate!
Followed by late lunch at The Real Greek. Food wasn’t impressive unfortunately.
And interesting sky at night on my way back.
