The glass art of Dale Chihuly is currently being exhibited at various locations at the Adelaide Botanic Gardens. The pieces displayed out in the open during the day are free to view by anyone who enters the Botanic Gardens. Entry is free during the day.
The pieces exhibited at the Bicentennial Conservatory can be viewed after buying a ticket. One can also purchase a ticket to view Chihuly’s pieces at night in the Botanic Gardens. This ticket also includes viewing for the Bicentennial Conservatory pieces.
For a look at all Dale Chihuly events and viewing at the Adelaide Botanic Gardens, visit their website here. TIP: Buy tickets online. Tickets are rarely guaranteed if you got to the North Gate and try to enter in the evenings.
Following are some photographs of some of the pieces displayed at the Bicentennial Conservatory, photographed during the late afternoon:

And now for photographs of some of the pieces at night, outside the Conservatory:

As you can probably tell, I’m a bit obsessed by the Sapphire Star outside The Palm House and the Chandelier inside The Palm House and the glass windows of The Palm House as well. The glass windows are the original hand-rolled ones from the 1800s.
I had first seen a glass sculpture by Dale Chihuly at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London back in 2013. And I came across a much larger sculpture in Dubai when on assignment with the Emirates, at The Atlantis Hotel, in 2016.
The Dale Chihuly sculptures are available for viewing at the Adelaide Botanic Garden till the 29th of April 2025. Personally, I highly recommend the pieces at the Bicentennial Conservatory. They are my favourite because of their more intimate setting with plants and trees and you can see them much more up-close than the other pieces across the gardens. Do keep in mind that it is warmer and more humid inside the Conservatory though.
Most of the photographs above have been shot on the Nikon D810 with the F2.8 24-70mm lens but there’s a few shot on the Pixel 9 XL Pro as well.
